Privacy
Utilitize provides electricity, water and solar metering for homes and properties in South Africa. This notice covers this website. Customer dashboards, billing and payments come with their own privacy information when you become a customer.
What we collect
When you contact us. The enquiry planner works in your browser. Nothing is sent until you send it yourself from your email app to hello@utilitize.africa. We then have your email address and whatever you choose to include, and we use them only to answer you and to talk about your property.
Guided tours. The tours use fictional data. Changes you make are saved only in your own browser. Use “Reset saved changes” in the tour menu to clear them.
Running the website. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes technical details such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don’t use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or cookie-based profiling.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we are talking to you, and for up to 24 months after our last contact unless you become a customer. Ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Where it is processed
Our hosting and email providers may process information outside South Africa, under their data-protection terms. We don’t sell or share your information for marketing.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it, by emailing hello@utilitize.africa. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Please don’t send passwords, bank details or ID numbers through the enquiry planner or by email.
